...The story of a girl in London, England

Day 5: Sleeping The Day Away...

I miss salt. Really. My macaroni and cheese needed salt... my cucumber needed salt... everything needs salt! And I have none. Alas.

I'm beginning to be permanently hungry. The food here is strange. ... You can't find what you're looking for in the grocery store because you don't recognize anything... labels or types of food... and it's organized totally haphazardly. (I'm sure it makes sense to the English, but not to me!)...

And another thing, (about London style and culture)... the thing to wear for women these days is leggings (whether sheer or opaque) and a shirt. (Or perhaps a very short skirt with your shirt, if you're more conservative)...

And all the men dress IMMACULATELY well. I mean, it's sort of ridiculous.

Today has been a lazy one.

I slept in, quite on accident, along with my adorable roommate Ashley... and ended up throwing on a dress, pinning back my hair, and running to church in 4 inch black platinum heels. Made it just in time to catch the end of the opening hymn. Hoorah!

Only I couldn't hear a lick of what anybody was saying... we were in the overflow section off to the right... and they speak awful quiet here... and I think they must keep their mic on the lowest possible vollume setting. Oh well.

After having a stellar lesson by the stake president, and talking to a very chatty and adorable lady in relief society (who lives outside of London and was only here for the weekend to see plays), I went back to the flat and promptly fell asleep... for several hours. Apparently everybody needed to catch up in the sleep department, because I definitely wasn't the only one napping.

Then I read for a bit, ate some dinner, showered, put my dress back on, and went to a Fireside for Young Single Adults. It was EXCELLENT. And they even had delicious ice cream refreshments afterwards! (Seriously, they were good. better than ice cream bars at home).

And since then I've snacked, read, and lounged about...

It was a much needed day of rest, that's for sure. (And don't worry, I'll get over the fact that there isn't any salt for my cucumber).
